Indianapolis Christian Writers Conference

Indianapolis Christian Writers Conference (ICWC) started in 2000 under the leadership of Don Cady, general publisher of Wesleyan Publishing House.  What started as a small denominational writers’ conference, soon expanded to the broader Christian writers' community.

Participation of editors, agents, and authors from publishing leaders such as Tyndale House, DaySpring Cards, Beacon Hill Press, Moody Press, WaterBrook Press, Livingstone Corporation, Christian Writers Guild, Group Publishing, Triangle Publishing, ACW Press, Thomas Nelson, and Wesleyan Publishing House have provided an inspiring and highly-valued writers’ conference.  In addition to book publishing, conference faculty representing Publishers Weekly, Rev! Magazine, Focus on the Family’s Clubhouse magazine, Wesleyan Life, Christian Communicator, Advanced Christian Writer, Church Libraries, and Wesley Bible Curriculum have offered attendees insight and encouragement to expand their vision and opportunities for publication.

Attendees of ICWC come from all over the United States and Canada to gain valuable instruction and to make connections with industry experts and other aspiring writers.  In addition to keynote and plenary sessions, daily workshops on the craft of writing, understanding the publishing industry, developing ideas and proposals, marketing yourself and your work, and many other topics are offered for enhancing your skills and the prospect of getting published. Additionally, ICWC offers all attendees the opportunity to consult one-on-one with professional authors, editors, and agents to ask questions and gain feedback on manuscripts and publishing ideas.

ICWC is held annually, the first weekend of November, on the northeast side of Indianapolis, just 45 minutes from the airport or downtown.  The one and a half day format is perfect for those with limited time and resources to attend longer writer conferences.  Attendees frequently praise ICWC as a high-value, high-content conference that provides all the opportunities of a larger conference without the high cost.
